General installation guidelines:

1. Peel back the outer jacket and insulation from the inner core.

2. Butt the two duct cores together over a standard metal joiner.

3. Tape the cores together with a minimum of two wraps of duct tape.

4. Secure the joint using tape.

5. Pull the insulation and jacket back over the joint.

6. Tape the outer jackets together with at least two wraps of duct tape.

Flexible duct is suitable for temperatures ranging from -30°C to +120°C.

The best duct for range hood ventilation is semi-rigid aluminium duct.

Semi-rigid aluminium duct offers a smooth internal surface that improves airflow, reduces grease build-up, and allows for easier cleaning. It is heat resistant, durable, and commonly required for kitchen exhaust applications.

Flexible insulated duct is not recommended for range hoods, as grease and moisture can accumulate in the corrugations, restricting airflow and increasing maintenance and fire risk.
