Tension/Extension Springs

Tension/extension spring – this spring is designed to operate with a tension load, so the spring stretches as the load is applied to it.

Tension springs are used to attach two components and bring them together when they try to detach. A high-tension spring works by absorbing energy and storing it. When tension is applied to the spring, its energy creates a resistance to counter the pulling force. The initial tension applied dictates how close these coils are. By controlling this initial tension, it is possible to customise the spring to cater to specific load requirements. The coiled spring design of a spring is what provides the strength and elasticity. A tension spring is tightly wound and when in a rest state, it remains coiled very closely.
