An eggcrate grille is commonly used in ceiling-mounted return air applications (please note that it is not suitable for floor mounting). 

1. Construction:

   • The grille consists of a 13mm square by 13mm deep mesh eggcrate core.
   • This core is housed in an aluminum frame with a standard finish of white powder coat.

2. Functionality:

   • The free area of the grille is greater than 90% of the nominal area.
   • This design allows for maximum air flow while maintaining relatively low noise levels.

3. Applications:

   • Ceiling-mounted return air systems: Eggcrate grilles are commonly installed in ceilings.
   • Filtered return air grilles: Fitted with a filter to prevent dust from entering the return air duct.
   • The filter is a polyester G2 media a low-grade quality media that is suitable for general use in air conditioning filters. 
   • It is recommended to clean or change the filter at least every 6 months for domestic applications.
