Description
Complimentary Professional Ducted System Design
Designed for Installers, Builders & Homeowners
Every home and project is unique. A well-designed ducted system is essential for achieving the comfort, performance and airflow your project requires.
At Airflow Engineering, we provide a complimentary Ducted System Design service as part of our component supply service.
Whether you're an HVAC installer, builder or homeowner, we can create a custom ducted system layout tailored to your project, airflow requirements and selected equipment.
Our complimentary design service is available for projects where the ducted system components specified in the design are intended to be purchased through Airflow Engineering.
If you require a professional design without purchasing the associated components from Airflow, a paid Design-Only Service is also available.
How It Works
1. Send Us Your Plans
Email your plans and project details to sales@airflo.co.nz, including:
- Floor plans
- Project address
- New build or existing home
- Ceiling height and roof type
- Preferred return air location
- Heat pump brand and model, if known
- Zoning requirements or special requests
- Installing contractor, if known
2. We Design Your System
Using professional HVAC design software and over 30 years of industry experience, we prepare a draft ducted system design for your project.
Your design may include:
- Duct layout and sizing
- Supply air grille locations
- Return air sizing and placement
- Airflow calculations
- Zoning integration where required
- Fresh air integration where required
- Associated ducted system components
3. Review & Approve the Design
We send the draft design to you for review before preparing the final quotation.
This gives you and your installer the opportunity to review the proposed layout, grille positions, return air location, zoning and other project requirements before pricing is completed.
Once the design is approved, we move on to pricing the components required for the system.
4. Quote & Supply
We prepare an itemised quotation for the Airflow components specified in the approved design. These may include ducting, plenums, grilles, fittings, branches, zoning products and associated accessories.
Components can be collected from Airflow Engineering or delivered directly to site.

Working With Installers
Airflow Engineering works alongside HVAC contractors, providing the design expertise and system components needed to complete a professional ducted installation.
Our designs can be developed around a wide range of ducted heat pump systems, allowing installers to maintain their preferred equipment and supplier relationships.
Airflow Engineering does not supply the ducted heat pump unit as part of this service. The heat pump equipment is to be sourced through the installing HVAC contractor or their preferred supplier.
We specialise in the components that complete the system, including custom plenums, ducting, grilles, fittings, zoning products and associated accessories.
The final installation, commissioning and compliance of the system remain the responsibility of the qualified installing contractor.
Complimentary Design Service
Our complimentary design service forms part of our ducted system component supply service.
It is provided on the understanding that, if the project proceeds using the Airflow design, the associated ducting, plenums, grilles, fittings, branches, zoning products and other specified components will be purchased through Airflow Engineering.
The complimentary design service is not intended to provide designs for obtaining quotations or purchasing the specified components from other suppliers.
We understand that projects change and not every quotation will proceed. There is no obligation to purchase if the project itself does not go ahead or circumstances change.
Where a professional design is required independently of component supply, our paid Design-Only Service is available.
Important Information
Airflow's Ducted System Design service assists with system planning, duct layout, airflow and component selection.
Final equipment selection, installation, commissioning and compliance remain the responsibility of the installing HVAC contractor.
Design drawings remain the property of Airflow Engineering and are supplied for the project for which they were prepared. Complimentary designs are not to be reproduced or used to obtain competing quotations or purchase the specified components from other suppliers.
