At Airflow Engineering (SI) Ltd – The HVAC Shop, we provide a free professional ducted design service to help plan your system with confidence.

Whether you’re an installer, builder, or homeowner, our team creates a custom duct layout, sized, balanced, and tailored to your chosen air conditioning equipment.

Note: We do not sell air conditioning units, but we manufacture and supply everything else: plenums, grilles, ducting, branches, fittings, and accessories. The free design service is available on the condition that all components specified in the plan are purchased through us.

How It Works

1. Submit Your Plans either attach to the link here or email your project details to design@thehvacshop.co.nz  with:

  • Floor plans (PDF, to scale)

  • Project address

  • New build or existing home

  • Ceiling height, pitch, and type

  • Preferred return air location

  • Air conditioning unit brand/model (if known)

  • Zoning or design preferences 

2. We Create Your Design

Our HVAC specialist uses Plandroid, a professional CAD-based tool and 30 years of experiance, to produce a custom ducted layout.

Your package includes:

  • Colour-coded duct layout on your floor plan

  • Duct sizes, lengths, and grille placement

  • Return air sizing and location

  • Optional zoning, plenum, or fresh air integration if required

  • Airflow and load calculations

  • Full itemised materials list with pricing for all components supplied by The HVAC Shop

3. Review & Coordinate

  • Contractors: Ready for quoting and installation

  • Homeowners: Share with your installer to confirm final equipment selection

  • Builders: Use for framing, ceiling, and project coordination

Everyone — installer, builder, and homeowner — works from the same accurate plan.

4. Quote & Supply

Once the design is finalised, we provide a full quote for all components.
All ducting, plenums, grilles, branches, fittings, and accessories can be ordered directly from The HVAC Shop, ready for pickup or delivery.

Remember: the free design is provided on the understanding that the specified components will be purchased from us.
